I was in a car accident in my 2006 Hyundai Elantra. I was hit by a ford f250 on the driver door. As you can tell from the photos the driver door came in about a foot. Guess what my side impact airbag failed to deploy. Hyundai is saying the side impact airbags are made to deploy on some accidents but not all. I am waiting on the report, but if the airbags are not supposed to deploy in all accidents why put them in? And if my car accident is not sever enough, are they waiting until the driver door is in the driver seat totally? The pillar that houses the side impact sensor is now touching the driver seat. Which before the accident was about 5 inches away from the seat. I had 2 cracked ribs, a bruise lung and a grade 2 cut on my spleen. I was in the hospital 4 days. Are they waiting someone to die before they fix the issue?
