While parking my 2006 Elantra on 2/19/11 my car suddenly accelerated to top speed. Unable to stop car I opted to drive on a sidewalk to avoid cars in the street.
Result: hit a chain link fence and a tree. Car was totaled and I suffered multiple injuries (broken arm, broken ribs). Spent 2 weeks in hospital, one month in nursing home for rehab.
