We are the owners of an Elantra Hyundai. very satisfied, since we owned previously an accent Hyundai. This car had the plastic of the headlights becoming foggy, matt. When we notced this we inquired in the main garage, where the car is always serviced. We were told that this can be polished for a certain sum. We think that it is not our fault and we need not invest any money into this. the company should provide us from the start with plastic that will not fade. The garage management did not want to accept our complaint. So we did not fix it. Now when we renewed our car state registration, they demanded us to polish the lights! We had no choice; did it and payed about 100$. We still think this is wrong. The garage argue that it is due to sunlight!! How come that our other car (not a Hyundai) is 2 years older, sits in the sun more hours than the Hyundai has clearplastics on its headlight??
We are very upset about this and wonder how to contact Hyundai Korea to let them know that it is not our private problem. This should not happen. Today's technology can overcome sunlight irradiation. Other cars stand in the sun and even longer and the plastic of the headlights remains clear. At least in our case we have the proof with our other car.
We think that Hyundai should take responsibility for this and do the polish as part of their service to their devoted customers and not try to give all kinds of excuses.
Looking forward to your advice and help
Sincerely
