The contact owns a 2001 Hyundai Elantra equipped with dextero touring dtr1 tires, size I95/60R/15 88H (na). While the vehicle was parked in the driveway, the rear passenger side tire blew out. In addition, the front driver, front passenger, and rear driver side tires had cracks on the lower sidewalls. The rear passenger tire was taken to walmart for replacement. The other tires were not replaced. The vehicle was not taken to a tire dealer for repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 97,285. The tire failure mileage was 15,000. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2001 Hyundai Elantra with 73000 miles. The contact was driving about 10 mph when he noticed the engine had started knocking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was told that the engine had failed. The contact also stated that he had to replace tire on the front passenger side several different times.
The front suspension/braking/tires system's under perform during slippery road conditions. On three seperate occasions my vehicle has sustained damage in excess of $1,000 per event for the vehicles' under performance based on the "optional" traction control" pefrormance specifications supplied by the manufacturer for typical turning conditions under slippery road conditions.
Car at dealer for requested assessment of front end components unusual tire wear on front tires (right shows inner core -steel belt? - coming through ) unsafe to drive- they are 60,000 mile tires -company refuses to make sure it isn't structural concern- it is unsafe to drive so it will sit as long as it takes them to assume responsibility for checking this out. /transmission revs engine to irrational #'s between 2nd and 3rd gears.
