08 Azera: Air bag light comes on along with passenger seatbelt warning. First would occur intermittently 2 yrs ago but for more than a week the airbag light would stays on (even when a passenger is seated or not). Had dealer look at it (when it was on) & they indicated it is the passenger seat belt / wiring harness issue they've been replacing under a recall. Indicated the car's VIN didn't appear in recall but service rep. Said it appears to be the exact same issue. Had replaced. Now it is occurring again. Requesting Hyundai corporate review and approve repair at no charge. Concerned for our safety.

The vehicle was taken to findlay Hyundai St george located at 1405 sunland dr, St george, ut 84790 where it was diagnosed that the air bag seat belt sensor was malfunctioning and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 09V497000 (air bags, seat belts). The failure mileage was approximately 56,000. Updated 10/25/17
The seatbelt in the backseat on the passenger side has locked. Prior to now, the same seatbelt locked temporarily several times, lasting several days each time. Currently, the belt has been locked for several weeks.
The "air bag" light remains on the driver's side dashboard. The Hyundai dealer says there is not a recall for this specific car for that problem. The repair station has told me twice that there is a recall in their system when they pull up the information. Since the dealer will not take ownership - it is costing us $463 to get fixed so the car will pass inspection.
