Was driving at 4am across the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway and my engine completely lost all power and was barely running. I luckily got to a crossover safely, and had to be towed home. I immediately knew it was the catalytic converter as this same thing happened to me last year. I replaced it the first time myself for over 600 bucks for just the part. This time I wasn't having it and completely gutted the cats as I live in a state with no emission laws and I knew this was just going to happen again in a year or so. I've never owned a car that kills catalytic converters as quickly as this car, it's absolutely ridiculous. Ever since I gutted the cats, the car runs great and burns no more oil so it fixed a lot of my problems. I really do like this car but this issue is a major pain in the butt.
