my car drags when in motion and struggles to accelerate

my Hyundai accent 2013 drags when I'm in motion and struggles to accelerate back to it's normal state after multiple pumping of the accelerator. sometimes it becomes so slow that I have to move for cars behind me to pass. plsssssssssss what could be the cause?
