I was driving at least 3-4 car length behind another vehicle, when I needed to use my brakes to stop. I stepped on the brake pedal kind of hard, and the brake pedal kicked back at me. It felt like the brakes were not catching the tires. It was so scary! I went to a used dealership, where they ran a diagnostic on my car & saw many different service codes! 2 of the codes were linked to ABS as well as ESC issues! The mechanic said without a doubt, these sensors caused my brakes to malfunction. I received a letter as well as pictures from that mechanic as proof. I filed a claim with Hyundai & they are saying my warranty doesn't cover brake issues. They are transferring me to many different people & no questions are being answered. They also would not give me the phone number for anyone in corporate. I took my Hyundai to one of their dealerships, and they said all of the codes had been wiped from my vehicle (Since the battery was disconnected when it was towed by Hyundai). Hyundai now says since they dont see the codes, and they can't duplicate the issue (They only drove the car for 2 miles) that they is nothing they can do. They want one of their inspectors to come out & look at it, but have no clue when that will be. They also said if I take the car off of the lot that they will not be responsible for any other issues that might occur. The service manager said that even though I have proof of the codes, that they are history codes (Which they can't say caused the accident, but can't say that it didn't cause the accident). He also said that they don't want to spend too much time or money to figure out the issue, as there aren't codes showing now, and the problem can't be duplicated.
