The Hyundai dealership came to talk to me. She proceeded to tell me I needed a laundry list of repairs. I did not believe all of them. I knew the transmission fluid was important to the car as were the brakes. I need to stop, lol. Lastly, she tells me I need drive belt, transmission belt, timing belt and more....costing only $749. WHAT?!!! Needless to say I could not allow them to charge me that amount for those repairs when I could not see what it was that was done.
I was forced to wait 3-4 weeks until I saved some money, went to another mechanic that charged me $210 for 3 belts. One belt did have "dry rot" on it. The other two looked fine. That is why I now, do not trust Hyundai dealership. What do they think we are. Rich Idiots??
Additionally, during the time I had to wait until I could afford the belt replacements I was forced to curtail my driving.around town. Hyundai service advisor is nice and friendly but she put the fear of death into me. I was ready for my car to break down on me. True, who knows when it will burst, yet they created a fabrication to scare me. Therefore, I do not trust them now. I don't want to but will only go back for the cheap oil changes.
I have future needs and I need trusted mechanic...not the dealership. Consider yourself warned, their name is South Point Hyundai in Austin, Texas.
Update from Jul 29, 2015: I really trusted Hyundai for a long time....but this one caused me to be broke. I went to "look" at a Toyota dealership and am very very very pleased and happy with my Used Yaris 2013 that I purchased on 7/6/2015
