Accent

  • Automatic transmission
  • 92,000 miles

The car's engine gets fractured cracks on it before 100k miles. I have another model 2008 which also just did the exact same thing and now both require replacement engines. These cars have a faulty engine made from inferior materials which make the engines crack.

Accent GS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,545 miles

The car runs smoothly and then it stutters and dies. Will not restart. First 4 times it would start an hour or so later. Most recent time it would not restart. Dealer is expecting to change crank sensor. Common response has been, no codes.. Therefore we don't know what to do about it. I like the car, but it unreliable and worse is that highly trained staff don't know whats wrong with it. Hyundia Canada isn't bending over to help. Had to rent a car and I be lost business due to the break down.

Update from Sep 24, 2015: ok.. the Orillia Hyundia Dealer fixed up my car after some through investigation. They did replace the crank sensor but the car didn't restart.

Something lead them to change the ECU. This was a free replacement due to some sort of Emissions law that guarantees a 7 year warranty on the computer chip / board? .

At this point ..maybe the car didn't start.. maybe it did but shut down again.. I don't recall exactly what they said, but they went looking for more causes and found that the rear fuel pump was not flowing properly. They replaced it and I've been good ever since. It was a warm summer and I had plenty of " low fuel, hot hours" of driving and the car ran perfectly again. I'm still haven't filed a claim with Hyundia to get the money back, but I doubt they will be responding ion my favour. I'll update if they do.
