There is a split in the passenger dash air bag, that has been getting bigger as time goes on. Took to dealer to get fixed. Will entail replacing airbag and costing a lot. We feel that it is the manufacturer responsibility to have this done not our. They disagree.
The air bag light comes on. We have fixed the problem twice. The seatbelt buckle is unstable which makes the air bag lights come on. Hyundai charges to have this replaced even if U have a warranty.

The contact sustained injuries to the right knee and bruises to the right hand, fingers and shoulders. The contact sought medical attention from her physician. The police reported to the scene and a report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a body shop for repair. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 12,834.

A car hit my 07 Hyundai Accent in a head on collision 5/6/11 when they lost control of their car while traveling North on I-275 and crossed over the center median into oncoming traffic traveling South bound on I-275 and hit me head on going about 40-50 mph. None of my airbags deployed. I have severe to moderate injuries and my car has been totaled by insurance company.

The contact and front seat passenger suffered moderate and severe injuries. The air bags failed to deploy with the level of impact involved. A police report filed was not filed, and the vehicle was driven away from the scene. The vehicle was repaired with the replacements of the radiator, air conditioner compressor and front bumper. In addition, the hood and other components within the front end bumper area were replaced. The failure mileage was unknown.
2007 Hyundai Accent, ran into ditch. My air bags did not come out I was seriously injured & the passenger with me was also. If the air bags would of came out I know we would of not have been hurt so bad. I have pictures & the car.
Driving in Idaho, the car started to slide on snow and slush hitting a guard rail head on, causing the vehicle to careen from the right to the left side of the road. Leaving the road caused the car to flip on the roof, where the engine caught fire. Only the driver curtain airbag deployed, resulting in the driver and passenger sustaining unnecessary injury that resulted from hitting the steering wheel and front dashboard which led to being hospitalized. A concussion sustained by the driver as well as knee and back injuries. The passenger sustained injuries to his knees, hands, neck and back. The engine had caught fire and had a open and visible flame seconds after the car came to rest. Driver immediately crawled out the broken window and used snow to extinguish the fire. Both driver and passenger where wearing a seatbelt. There are pictures and a police report.
The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Accent. Immediately after purchasing the vehicle in January of 2009, the air bag indicator would remain illuminated when the passenger seat was occupied. The failure occurs intermittently. The vehicle was driven to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified and stated that there were no recalls relating to the issue; therefore, they were not liable for the repairs.
