This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The car is a 2005 Hyundai Accent 4-door. While driving after having warmed the car up for approx 5 minutes (the outside temperature was approx. 5 degrees Fahrenheit), the rear window completely shattered, from top to bottom, side to side. No foreign object struck the window prior to it shattering. The shattered glass, then, as bumps were hit, began to fall into the car and would have struck any rear seat passengers, had there been any. This was obviously due to a manufacturing defect in the window, although Hyundai service refused to replace the window. My own research on this topic revealed that this is not by any means an isolated incident.
