This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
1) driving on a hilly, twisty road. While approaching a downhill turn in the road, the check engine light came on, the tach dropped to "0" and the car shut off. Since the engine was no longer running, I lost my power steering and power brakes suddenly. I lost control of the car and went off the road, crashing into a guardrail. 2) damaged parts: Front bumper, headlight assembly, corner light assembly, rf fender, hood, upper radiator core support. Possibly inner fender also? air bags did not go off, and I was not injured. I was able to restart the car, and the check engine light went out after about 10-15 seconds. I have been able to operate the car normally ever since. I contacted Hyundai and am waiting for resolution and repairs. 3) nothing has been done yet.
