- the contact owns 2001 Hyundai Accent. While driving at 45 mph on a very nice day the vehicle began drifting on the road. The front passenger tire went off the road and the rear tire went off the road as well. The vehicle slowed down to approximately 40 mph when the driver lost complete control. He stated that only the driver's side tire was steering correctly, the other tires were going side to side. The contact could not control the vehicle and was rear ended. He sustained minor injuries. The contact had taken some pictures, and said that there was a bolt that sheared off. The rubber bushing was wide open and deformed. The contact had a police report. The current and failure mileage were both 100,000.
When the brakes were applied, there was a popping noise from under front end. Also a creaking noise was heard from under the right front when car was at idle and when the steering was turned back and forth. Customer felt noise was related. Dealership could not find at the time. This happened three times.
There is a bolt that has a 1/2" gap on the driver's side under the frame that was noticed when replacing the front brake pads. The passenger side suspension bolt is flush with the frame of the car. This can only be seen if the car is on the ground. This is a potential hazard. Was notified by the mechanic that is was a defect with suspension and told to get the car in asap. This could pose a serious risk to the driver as well as others on the road.
Ignition coil went out 3 days after vehicle purchased. Since then it has been replaced 2 more times.also, front end will shake, and engine check light comes on.
