: the contact stated while traveling 25 mph, a cracking noise was heard coming from the front left end of the vehicle and the front left tire began to rub on the back of the wheel well during braking. On inspection by an independent mechanic, the problem was identified as a failure of the lower control arm and coil spring on the front left side. There was a recall (02V341000) regarding the suspension, lower control arm. The service dealer had inspected the control arm for rust and applied an undercoating to the part on 8/12/2003. The manufacturer had provided the recall numbers to the contact and referred the issue back to the service dealer. The service dealer determined the window of opportunity had passed for a free replacement part.
Before recall 98V245000, consumer was beginning to accelerate when vehicle hit a curb possibly related to the spring coil collapsing damaging the tire and causing airbags to deploy, violent deployment of the airbags damaged windshield and blew sunroof completely off, consumer sustained injuries to the face.

Consumer received a recall to have shields placed on front coil springs to prevent the springs from popping of the tire. The springs were already broken when the letter was received. Dealer has been contacted, will repair at owner's cost.
Consumer complains that coil spring recall repair is not acceptable. Repairs is to prevent broken spring from contacting tire, consumer feels spring should be replaced altogether. (98V-245)

Vehicle was involved in an accident in Nov 97, in which wheels locked up after tire were blown; as of 12 of Dec, consumer received mfr. Recall notice concerning front coil spring which she believed was cause of the defect. Would like to know how can one be reimbursed for this problem.
Consumer received recall letter. Contacted dealer. When arrived for scheduled appointment, the dealer had no parts available to remedy the problem. Recall number 98V245000.
Consumer experiencing poblem with dealer not honoring mfr. Recall notice (mfr. Number unavaiable). Condition can result in a corrosion that causes pits to form on the lower coil of the front springs, allowing cracks to develop. This can result in a breakage of lower spring, which can come incontact with tire, and can result into a tire blowout, causing vehicle to lose control at high speed.
