When driving through the mountains on the interstate, we noticed that the car was having a very hard time shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. So we got home and dropped the transmission pan and a lot magnetic (ferrous/iron) particles were stuck to the magnet in bottom on the pan. The transmission filter also had plenty of silver-colored metallic particles in it too. The transmission was blown. So we had to completely replace the entire transmission with a remanufactured transmission.
