Frank Fletceher would not safety recall or warranty inspect my honda bc I didn't buy from them. I need a PGM-FI idle stop sw update & tailgate wire harness inspection.
Was stopped at a traffic light and idle-stop had engaged. Released brake and vehicle failed to restart. Multiple attempts to restart before it actually started. Many dash indicators were lit, but I was too frantic to notice which. Was in heavy traffic and it was very unsettling. Only time this has happened, but I feel like it will repeat. Have not been to dealer, but I will.
On 08/23/23 multiple safety warning lights activated on my dashboard. I took my vehicle to my Honda Dealer and after two days it was returned and I was told that it was repaired. The next day while driving the exact same thing occurred and I noticed that the vehicle was not accelerating normally and the brake warning light activated although there were no cars or objects in front of me. I returned to the dealership who kept my vehicle for 5 days returning it to me and telling me that they could not duplicate the error. I drove my car approximately ten miles from the dealership and all of the warning lights again activated and the vehicle was not accelerating as it had prior to this problem. I returned to the dealership and they now have the vehicle and explained that they will contact the Honda Help line.

Traveling at 50mph when warning lights started, AWD malfunction, auto idle malfunction, gear shift malfunction, then warning says shift to N and power shut down, coasted to a stop. Once stopped smoke coming from engine, unable to open hood (to hot). Within 2 min flames were coming around hood fire extinguishers not helpful to stop flames. Fire department arrived within 15 min to extinguish.
The heated steering wheel over heated causing the leather on the steering wheel to bubble up on the right hand side. The steering wheel got so hot when I was driving I could not hold it. I had to pull over and let the steering wheel cool off. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to it over heating. This happen Nov. 2022. The dealer said I need a new steering wheel. It is May 2023 and I am still waiting on a new steering wheel.
When stopped at a red light and idle engine auto-stop engaged the vehicle displayed battery warning light and a -??Shift to Park-?? message on display. Vehicle had to be shifted into park and restarted manually before it could move. Your Questions: 1. Battery/Auto-stop-start system. Sure, you can inspect it. 2. Vehicle was non-responsive and immobile at a busy intersection. 3. No, the incident just happened today, but apparently the NHTSA is investigating a similar problem in the Pilot, a mechanically identical vehicle. https://wtop.com/national/2022/06/us-investigating-complaints-that-honda-engines-wont-restart/ 4. No 5.None. Red battery dash light illuminated at time of incident. I did not notice it before this happened. The vehicle had been at freeway speeds for 30+ minutes, so low voltage shouldn't have been an issue. It was below-freezing at the time, however.
1.Auto Highbeam lighting continuously flashes when sees reflection from street signs which confuses and blind coming drivers 2. Phone wireless charger not working properly, reported to honda several times. ALL this issues are since purchased.
The wireless charging pad does not work properly. I-??ve tested with 3 different Apple iPhones and they will start to charge for a few seconds, then it will stop changing. Sometimes it will resume charging for a few seconds and then stop again. I-??ve seen videos online of others who are experiencing the same issue with both 2021 and 2022 Honda vehicles (issue not exclusive to the Ridgeline).
Factory wireless charger. Available for inspection upon request. Unsafe conditions created when wireless charging failed during a drive causing driver to be distracted by misbehaving equipment. Trying to readjust phone was distracting. Problem reproduced at dealer. Dealer declined to repair/replace equipment. Dealer advised iPhone 12 mini silicone case was interfering with the charging. Removed case, but bare phone did not resolve the issue. Replaced phone with brand new iPhone 13. New phone exhibits same behavior. Charger charges for a few seconds, then stops and led indicator blinks. Then charges for a few seconds, and fails again. iPhone started to get real hot so I turned off the wireless charger.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that the vehicle had been driven for approximately a mile; after arriving at her residence, she was unable to shift the vehicle into reverse while depressing the button to select reverse. The contact stated that the emission, transmission, and an unknown sensor warning light were illuminated on the instrument panel during the failure. The contact's husband was able to drive the vehicle to the dealer where they diagnosed the vehicle with a possible battery failure. The battery was replaced and the vehicle was returned to the contact. Two days later while the contact was in a drive-thru line, a whitish-gray smoke started coming from the steering wheel. The steering wheel then became extremely hot to the touch. The contact-??s husband who was seated next to her became alarmed and yelled out the fire. The contact and her husband then exited the vehicle out of fear that the vehicle might catch on fire. The contact turned the vehicle off and the smoke stopped. The contact then had the vehicle towed back to the dealer where it remained in their possession. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
The wireless charging pad does not work, no matter what position the phone is. I have tried with the case off, so that's not the issue. And I've also tried multiple phones. It pretends to power on and start charging but then it stops in less than a minute, even WITHOUT driving the car....so the phone has no chance to move.
