"Oil transmission cooler line was leaking for who knows how long!"
My wife had seen black spots on my driveway so I started to investigate. I check both cars and the one was leaking is the 21 Ridgeline that I just purchase 2 months ago. I crawled under the truck and had seen oil dripping. There is some sort of pigment that catches the oil before it hits the ground and that was drenched! I can feel it like a wet sponge. I can't tell you when it started leaking but that sponge can take a lot of oil and the crevices can hold some too. GO CHECK NOW!
I contacted my dealer and brought in the car for repairs only to find out that the transmission cooler line was backed ordered (4 lines)! My truck was sitting at the dealership awaiting parts for almost 6 months!
Yes they did give me a free rental but during the time it was at the dealership I endured a considerable amount of stress about purchasing this vehicle, it's the top of the line Black Edition and paid it on March 2021 and got to drive it 5-6 months later!
Dealer has fixed the lines and now I'm out of bumper to bumper warranty for about 6 months. Dealer said they won't help me with that and said to contact Honda Customer Service. I called HCS and they got back to me 3 months later ( last week of Dec 21). I ask my case manager that I want my bumper to bumper warranty back for the time it was sitting at the dealership not being use. She called me last week and said she can't do anything about it because they gave me a rental free of charge.
My reaction was very surprised! I told her I just wanted my warranty to be reset on the day I got it back in full working order. This is turning into a horror show! I also mentioned that if we can't come to an agreement I will have to hire a lawyer. She said no, you don't, I will bring the situation hire up the chain and will get back to you. Hmmmm so now I see, the word lawyer scares them...??? Now I'm waiting for their call again.
Sorry for my English. I am a fair man. 1 day, 2 day or a week in the shop is acceptable, but 6 months is totally not! A lot can go wrong in 6 months. Think of it, I didn't drive the truck for six months, I didn't remote start my truck, didn't use the radio, didn't use the all of that. With that being said, I lost 6 months of bumper to bumper warranty and Honda Customer Service is not being fair about it.
Thank you for reading this, it's a true story! Any recommendation will be greatly appreciated!
