Navigator suddenly opens with "Can't Unlock Maps". On Ridgeline Owner's Forum, several owners have same problem without a clear solution. As far as I can tell, Honda has yet to issue a Technical Bulletin. Garmin has some suggestions for this problem when the Garmin device can be connected to a computer but not for the Honda device. Simple solutions like trying to update maps, don't work because as the update begins, the "Can't Unlock Maps" error appears.
I have the feeling this is a Garmin problem but I'm a Honda customer not a Garmin customer. We (consumers) need an easy way to diagnose the navigator software and reload the entire software if there is a problem. I think Honda should have enough influence to make sure that their vehicle owners have a flawless navigation equipment experience.
