Gas tank straps let go. When I took the truck to have replacements installed, found the cross member to which they were attached had rusted out. Had to have replacement fabricated / welded in place.

I bought a used 2007 Ridgeline with 89k 1 owner in 2014. Truck runs great the problem rust started around both rear wells. most Auto body's do not want work on this type of rust problem not a days. Having to do it myself.

For Honda I surprised so much corrosion has occurred. I keep my truck clean all the time frequent trips to the cars and under carriage washing.

Ridgeline RTS 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 95,000 miles

Bought my Ridgeline RTS in March 2011, from a used car dealership. This truck had great reviews, and ranked very highly in Consumer Reports. I bought it for that reason. At time of purchase, I saw a small rust bubble beginning to form over passenger side rear fender. I thought I would take care of it eventually with a little sandpaper, primer, touch-up paint. When I went to do so, I found the rust began on the inside, not the outside, and the rust grew as I sanded. So much of it had rusted out on the inside, I had to cut out a 15" section of the fender well, replace it with some new sheet metal, and finish up the bodywork with body filler. Cost me about $150.00 in parts and time. I love the Ridgeline, but this was bit sad for a 5 year old Honda.
