CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012-2013 Honda Pilot have a small complaint trend of owners reporting the engine hesitates sometimes when accelerating.
While it's not a widespread trend with the Pilot, it's a little concerning because of the possibly safety ramifications. While it's certainly something to keep in mind, most Pilot owners are not experiencing this problem.

I bought this vehicle brand new in October of 2012 and in April is when I notice that the paint was coming off the bottom of the doors and starting to rust. I called the dealership I purchased it from, which is 2 1/2 hours away from me, and talked to my salesman and he said he couldn't help me and transfered me to the service department. The service manager said that he could not do anything until I brought it in or the best thing to do is to bring it to my closest dealership and they could help me. So I took it in and they got the service manager and he said he has never seen anything like this before. He took pictures and said he would get with Honda and get back to me. Over 2 weeks went by and I had not received a call and I called them and the dealership said that the guy that was looking at it was on vacation and would call me next week. Long story is I still have no answer. I took it back yesterday and Honda still hasn't let me know anything. I want to know what is wrong and I want it fixed. A person don't plan on purchasing a $40,000 vehicle and after a couple of months the paint is coming off and it is starting to rust. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what did Honda do about it?
