My moonroof spontaneously exploded on the highway. Nothing was overhead and no debris had hit my car - there were no other vehicles within a half mile because I was coming onto the highway from an on ramp.
The explosion was very loud with an initial pop, then another loud bang and the sound of glass fragments skittering across the top of my passport that had less than 3k miles at the time.
I took vehicle immediately to dealer. They called and told me glass wasn't under warranty. I called Honda Corporate. They made excuses and told me it was not their problem and that I had been hit by debris but they weren't with me, and I found hundreds of other complaints about Honda moon roof (as well as other brands)
I was glad I had screen slid closed or I would have been showered with glass and probably wrecked.
Ultimately my dealer fixed this at no charge but HONDA CORPORATE NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED PROBLEM. They kept insisting it was my fault! When you look at the photos it is very obvious a stress fracture from the four corners caused the blowout - I will NEVER drive with the shade opened. I am afraid this will happen again - it is a hazard that HONDA is trying to sweep under the rug with all their other problems.
This is my fifth Honda and based on this (and other significant problems) it will most definitely be my last.
