Engine has a very noticeable knock while under load. Load being defined as, in gear and moving at low speeds. 0-12 MPH (0-19 KMH). It is quite obviously a bottom-end noise concerning the crankshaft and rod bearing assemblies. I am very concerned that this will cause premature wear and potentially catastrophic engine failure.
I am the second owner of this vehicle. Original owner also complained of this engine knock, to which dealerships told them they do not know, or that it's normal.
I recently visited a Honda dealership (April 30, 2022) to which they told me they could not duplicate it without me taking a test drive with the technician to pinpoint the noise. During the test drive, we both identified it. The technician then told me that it was normal noise without any other further diagnosis performed. I still have a good remainder of the 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty.
American Honda will be contacted for further advice or answers.
