The engine and transmission light came on and have been flashing, while I was on the street, then the steering wheel does not turn smoothly and the car produces noise when turning to the left or right or reversing. And while running, it produces smoke

Just read web info on fuel gauge not reading correctly after gas tank is about half full on Honda Passports. My vehicle's fuel gauge moves significantly on turns and at times check engine light comes when tank is about gas 1/2 full. This just started happening when the vehicle had approx 87K miles on it. When gas tanked is topped off - usually around 8-10 gals - everything starts working fine again. Heard Honda may have announced a recalled this for Honda Passports but up to year model1999. But given the same symptom and just started happening on my year 2000 vehicle..thinking all years should be included. I have not talked to dealer yet. Honda maintains a great reputation and should offer an expanded recall. Given the age, the vehicle is like new and otherwise runs fantastic and I have low milage on the vehicle. Would imagine the same parts used in 1999 Passports (fuel sending unit/lever) is same in the year 2000. Thank you for further research and information to Honda Passport owners.
