Honda corporation contacted/Honda unwilling to accept fault. Spoke with ellen at 1-800-999-1009. Issued claim #N012001-11-2601219 on 11-16-2001. Ross at Honda tech line stated that this condition could not happen due to rundundant sensors in the acceleration pedal. On both occations the vehicle acclerated on own. On the first occurance the brake pedal had to be pressed and the vehicle taken out of gear to avoid rear end collsion while in school zone with my children onboard. On second occurrence the driver had foot completely off of the acceleration pedal and vehicle continued to accelerate from 20 to 30 mph. Accelerator pedal had to be "stomped" to stop uncontrolled accelleration. Lynwood Honda would not replace acceleration sensors (5) for fear of admitting that there could be a problem. Spoke with the owner eric neilso, advisor mike popkey, service advisor peter callahan at lynwood Honda. Honda automotive corporation stated, "how do we know that you didn't have your foot on the accelerator pedal. This appears to only be happening to your vehicle, not to others". Honda states that since it is only happening to my vehicle then there really isn't a serious issue. I have contacted the attourney general for Washington state and will be submitting additional letters to Honda automotive corporation. This vehicle has been in the service department at lynwood Honda on numerous occations for faulty equipment.
