Problem with brake system of Honda Passports. There is a delay in stopping and car glides forward several feed even after brakes are applied. Had this problem ever since purchasing the car but not as bad. Always was told it is the nature of ABS brakes to do that! took it to the dealership 3 times and they said they could not similiate the problem and that there was nothing wrong with the brakes. Took it to an independant and he was able to find out the same problem with brakes in 2 hours! took it back to the Honda dealership and they suddenly acknowledged that they had heard about the same problem from other customers. In each case were not able to pinpoint the problem, and basically Honda not doing anything about it. Then saw the other complaint reports in mycarstats.com and noticed this has been an ongoing and existing problem with Honda. This is a serious safety issue and Honda is deceiving the public by not being honest about its existence.

NHTSA recall 02-I-002-000: Vehicle description: Sport utility vehicles that are equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS). The vehicles can experience extended stopping distances in certain types of braking events. Consumer states this recall failed.
Consumer states the ABS light comes on intermittently, in emergency situations the ABS system is inoperable. Dealer stated he could not find a problem and suggested consumer add brake fluid to vehicle.
My ABS light is always on and it has been into the Honda dealer and they could not locate the problem. I have had a to use my brakes in a quick manner and have found that they lock up. I have two small children and this is a major concern for me. I found a recall on the safety alerts that said there was a recall for this problem on the 98 Honda Passport. I took the NHTSA campaign number (021002001) called Honda customer service and they have no record of this recall. I tried the local Honda dealer and they could not find anything either. They told me there was nothing in their bulletins regarding ABS. My concern is I have been having trouble with the ABS, I have two small children and this has been brought to my attention yet no one can find this campaign id number 021002001 linked to my Honda Passport. If there is anything that can be done please contact me.
