I had a Recall on my 2020 Honda Odyssey Vin # [XXX] for NHTSA Recall # 23V-431. The recall was for rear camera failure. The Fix was to replace MOST cable harness. In Early October 2023 my rear view camera did fail and no longer conformed to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No 111, -??Rear Visibility-?? I took my Honda Odyssey to Serra Brighton Honda for repair, Serra Brighton Honda replaced the cable and it did not fix the problem. I was told it was the camera which was not part of the recall and was charged $302.42 for replacement of the camera, Invoice # [XXX]. It only seems logical to me that if -??Rear Visibility-?? is a Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard, the camera should have been included as part of the fix. It could have been possible that the cable shorted out and damaged the camera-??s electronics. My Honda only has 21,500 miles and is always stored in a garage and has never been in an accident. I was sold a car with an active recall, that came out on 7/28. I purchased the car on 8/13 and had no idea about the recall... I am extremely upset that I was sold an unsafe vehicle and for a recall that could affect the safety of my wife and children
