Noticed clunking noise from rear of car when going over sharp bumps. Inspecting rear suspension revealed the rear driver side coil spring is broken near the bottom of the coil. Judging by amount of rust on the broken ends this has been broken for some time. Searching online this is a common issue for this generation Odyssey, and Honda do not have replacement springs in stock, with estimated wait time for parts of many months.

Driver Rear suspension coil spring broke in half while vehicle was parked. I just got out of the van and there was a loud nose and the van dropped a few inches If I was driving at the time I could have lost control and crashed. Has not been inspected Is unavailable for inspection because no replacement part available from Honda part is on back order Multiple reports online of the same part breaking sooner. Has not been confirmed by the dealer as dealer doesn't have the part to replace it with

I took the van into Honda and they said the back 2 rear springs were broken. But the parts (springs) were on back order. I called dealers all over Ontario, New York and Virginia(because I have family in those states) and discovered that none of them had the part or that if they did they were not allowed to sell them because they had a line up of customers that needed them. One dealer, before I even gave the part number, stopped me and said your calling about the rear springs because they had so many inquiries. To me this sounds like there is an issue with the rear springs for Honda odyssey from the year 2018-2020 and that this should be a recalled item. No way is it a coincidence that there no springs available because of a random part shortage. It-??s more likely it-??s a poorly manufactured part and they are all breaking 5-7 years in to their life span. I believe this should be investigated as Honda probably knows the part is defective. This should be a part that is recalled and the cost of repair covered by Honda. Currently my odyssey can-??t e driven for safety reasons until the parts (spring) comes in which could be month. I can give you the dealers I contacted and part number.

While driving on highway rear Left spring which is a ver heavy duty spring broke into pieces without any accident but could have caused catastrophic event. This needs to be investigated as per even dealer said this is very unusual, this sprng coil never breaks and could cause death. This is a metallic issue with Mattel.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while his wife was exiting a parking lot driving approximately 5 MPH, the passenger-??s side rear of the vehicle unintendedly lowered approximately 8 inches. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger-??s side rear coil spring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts being unavailable. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle drove over a bump in the roadway and the rear end started shaking abnormally. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he was able to drive the vehicle however, after driving over a bump in the roadway, the rear end bounced several times. The contact stated that a friend drove the vehicle and confirmed that there was an issue with the rear end of the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as rusted rear struts on the passenger-??s and driver-??s side as well as one of the struts had fractured. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, the contact was unaware if a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The original tires on this car needed to be changed around 20k miles. I asked the dealer to align it in 2021 after getting new tires. I barely put 8k miles per year on this minivan. Recently when I went for a rotation I was told that they are wearing unevenly. I went to get an alignment and was told that the rear driver Camber was out of spec and the rear passenger toe was out of spec. The problem is that you are unable to make those adjustments on the rear. This means that it came like this out of the factory and is rapidly wearing tires on the vehicles. I did a search online and found other people from 2019 model years who experience this issue. I had the knuckle on the passenger side replaced for $900. But then found out about the drivers side toe being out of spec. I find this abominable that the car came from the factory out of spec in the steering/suspension. There's no way i could have hit something hard enough to knock it out of spec without there being other damage to the car. I would like honda to reimburse me the cost and to fix the steering knuckle for the rear drivers side. I also would like a safety notice issued to people that their tires may wear rapidly due to inability to adjust camber/toe on the rear. I only noticed now when i go to get the tires aligned. Its been 5 years i had the car.

1. 2nd row driver and passenger seats do not "lock" into place when folded forward, creating a "free flying" seat when driving/in motion and an entrapment issue when parked for 3rd row passengers attempting to exit the 3rd row. This is specially dangerous on a hill. My 3 year old has been hit and injured by the seat on a several occasions. 2. engine lurches and stalls while in motion. Stalling causes potential risk for accident. 3. driver and passenger sliding door will not open on occasion. This means getting 2nd and 3rd row passengers out of trunk or climbing through to driver/passenger seat. All of these have been brought to the attention of the dealership, they cannot reproduce 1 and 3. had no solution for #2 (a simple locking addition to the seat footing would fix #2, Toyota sienna's lock on place)
