I originally purchased my brand new Odyssey 2018 in October of 2017. I traveled to Wisconsin in June and stayed at my mother's home parking the car outside as garage was not available. Approximately 3-4 weeks after arriving I got a screen message that there was an error with my emissions system.
I called and then took it into the local Honda dealer where they checked it and found that rodents had been chewing on my soy-based wires. They kept it and found that the whole wiring system was affected and they needed to replace the entire harness. I was given a loaner to use in the meantime. I did not get my car back until August 8th waiting for back-ordered new wires - hopefully not coated in soy products.
I was told by Honda that it was not covered under warranty and I had to pay out of pocket. They and several other car manufacturers have been involved in various law suits including class action suits pertaining to this problem. Honda Corp has known since 2012 that this has been a problem and did nothing to remedy the situation or replace the faulty wires before selling the cars to the public.
I want my money back.
