CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 and 2015 Honda Odyssey shows an early trend of transmission problems with clunking/jerking when shifting gears.
Most of these Odyssey transmissions are still under warranty, but so far Toyota generally hasn't been able to diagnose or fix the clunking problem — that's the reason for our low rating. Some owners have reported it was a stuck solenoid, & in a few cases Honda has replaced the entire transmission.
As more of these Odysseys start exceeding the 60,000-mile powertrain warranty limit, buyer beware.
The car was purchased in 8/2015, so the wiper blades are still essentially new (11/2015) and are in great condition (i.e. clean, not abused, etc.). The first time I drove the vehicle in any substantial rain, I noticed that the wiper blades chatter/skip excessively, worse in one direction than the other. This occurs even when the rain is heavy enough to use the wipers and the windshield and wipers are fully soaked. It seems to occur regardless of wiper speed or vehicle speed.
Upon inspection of the blades, I noticed that these wiper blades are different than my other Hondas. Namely, the blade (rubber) isn't a thin blade attached to a rigid metal wiper support, but the blade is a large thick cross-section rubber blade that has hardly any support from the wiper support. For example, when the blade is lifted off the window manually, it droops at the ends (inches) from the middle. I have a feeling this type of design isn't rigid enough to prevent the chatter I'm seeing. I'm hesitant to take it to the dealer, since they'll likely just install new blades.
Anyone else have this problem and a reasonable solution? Thanks!
