CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 and 2015 Honda Odyssey shows an early trend of transmission problems with clunking/jerking when shifting gears.
Most of these Odyssey transmissions are still under warranty, but so far Toyota generally hasn't been able to diagnose or fix the clunking problem — that's the reason for our low rating. Some owners have reported it was a stuck solenoid, & in a few cases Honda has replaced the entire transmission.
As more of these Odysseys start exceeding the 60,000-mile powertrain warranty limit, buyer beware.

Bough a brand new Honda Odyssey Touring Elite, the best in their lineup. Paid good money and driving home I heard a very annoying noise coming from the front of the car, either the windshield, the rear view mirror, or passenger window side. Extremely annoying. Contacted the dealer, brought the vehicle back and they said they replaced the sealant on the windshield. Driving home the exact same noise, at this stage it seemed to have gotten louder (if at all possible). Contacted dealer again, left the car overnight, was given a loaner, when returned to pick up the vehicle, was told that they had installed a new windshield. On the way back noise was still present.
Called Honda Corporation and was basically told that I was ass out, since the vehicle performed in all areas, and there was no recall suggesting annoying noise. Realized too late that I was stuck, unless I went shopping for a new vehicle, which really was the last thing I wanted to do. Honda does not care at all about this structural problem, and I did some research and there are a number of hard working people that put the money down for the Honda Odyssey, and that now have to live with this annoying sound. It sucks big lemons, and as the months have rolled by I am very close on switching vehicles. Must say that all other aspects of the vehicle have been working as they should, for the exception of the most annoying noise that Honda does not even care to acknowledge, and I truly believe that the reason they do not want to be bothered with this issue, is because it is a structural issue that show how incompetent car manufacturers can be at times.
Stuck for now, read the review in this site of a fellow owner who has experienced this problem, who also tried his best to have the problem fixed, and found out, like I did, that Honda is just going to leave loyal purchasers to suffer through the ownership of this defective Honda Odyssey. Yet, it is still number one in Minivans, and not one serious media reviewer has brought this very important point to the knowledge of future buyers. Talk about safeguarding personal interests at the expense of the consumer. This noise is so annoying when traveling, specially in windy roads, that it is hard to believe their top of the line would make this kind of noise.
