Bought a 2013 Honda Odyssey in 2016. I received a notice about the mid-row seat recall but never heard about the lawsuit about the engine issue - that causes the van to use up excessive oil, shortens the life of spark plugs significantly, causes serious misfiring, MIL coming on without warning, and beginning to blink after driving for 10 more minutes. This leads to be stranded and needing to tow the car because it happens so quickly and is immediately serious.
I read that this VCM device is bad and causing major issues - but I was never told and therefore never got it fixed. In the last 3 years I have had to change spark plugs 2 times and had to pay for my car to be towed both times. Car just starts to misfire out of nowhere and then the car sounds like it's going to cut out. I have to check the oil every month because it's frequently low.
Now I have to deal with replacing piston rings, and spark plugs again!
Why didn't the warranty extension continue for the life of the car? How can this not be an issue? There is something wrong with the car - the courts proved that and Honda should fix the issue in every car!! I never got the notice after I bought the car used.
Eventually, I am told, this will damage the car to the point that it will cost thousands to fix. Why is this my responsibility?!?!?! Honda sucks.
