Brought the car with 54K miles in 2017, Had to replace alternator in 2018, 2021, and now 2023. This car has some serious electrical issues, even after replacing with original OEM parts.
Either that or the dealerships and the repair shop its OEM but use after market parts.. which is quite possible as everyone in the car industry is a crook.
The spool valve was leaking on alternator. No mechanic except people at Honda know exactly what a spool valve is???

People say that Hondas are good cars, vans. I do not find that to be the case because while they may have a good engine and transmission, the spool valve leaking on the alternator is awful.
The electrical system goes haywire and the doors don’t always slide open. You need codes upon codes to reprogram.
Van started to just shut down in the middle of the road. Luckily we were close to an auto store and they were able to test it and get us going again until we were able to get to the shop to get it fixed.
2012 Honda Odyssey purchased new with 75542 miles and had to install a new alternator at a cost of $516. This seems way to soon for this type of repair.
Check Charging system light would come on and go off. Took to the local dealer and they said everything was fine. I guess this error does not get logged in the error codes. Went on vacation and it came on again about 6 pm. Called dealer but they were closed, limped home as the battery started to drain, Had it towed to a dealer in the morning. They say it was the battery as the alternator still checked out. $150 later I was driving back to the hotel and a mile away the light came back on and I had to return and since the light was still on I guess they could see it was failing and replaced it. Lucky I had the extended warranty because they where going to charge me like $400.
