Brakes and rotors both went bad all the way around pretty early on. Started to notice small vibrations braking especially on ramps and harder stops. Vibrations started around 55,000 miles I believe. We replaced both the brakes and rotors at home to save money. Total cost for home repair is about $250-$300. I know it was about time for the brakes and we always upgrade from the factory but I wasn't expecting the rotors to go so bad so fast. I love my Odyssey but if the replacements are still wearing fast then it isn't a part problem but a manufacturer issue and I may consider another vehicle.

We are now on our 4th set of brakes. Honda replaced them twice. However, after we had the problem a third time, we took the car to our old repair shop. They replaced the pads and rotors and everything was fine for a few months. On a long trip, we noticed the vibration had returned. We brought the car back to the repair shop. Te/hey fixed the issue (no charge) which was under warranty. Given the number of times this has happened, I'll likely have to write another note in a year. This is the last Honda we'll ever buy!!

The brakes of this Honda Odyssey seemed weak especially when used in mountainous areas. We used it going to Las Vegas on its 18K miles and that's where we noticed the brake fading and started to vibrate. Then when used gradually on flat terrains, it doesn't vibrate. Brought it to Honda and after the test they cleaned the braked pads and said it's caused by a warped rotor. Dealer said I have to pay the cost of $115.00 to resurface the rotors. I declined the service. I am thinking of upgrading the brake to Brembo.

I have owned 6 Odysseys, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2012, and this is the second time I have had to have a brake job. Problem is the 2004 had 60,000 miles when I replaced the pads which is not too bad. But this 2012 now has 21000 miles and this seems a bit early to replace pads and turn rotors. Of course not covered by warranty, purchased car in June 2012 so relatively new. After doing search have concluded that 2012 Odyssey has a factory defect that Honda is not willing to recognize. Guess Honda is taking the GM stand,"Wait until the death toll reaches 13 then we will start recall program." If Honda does not address this situation may have to look at Toyota in 2015.
