I was not aware that there was a problem waiting to happen with my vehicle.
I always did the regular maintenance - changed oil, brakes, tires... etc. The engine light came on and another light with the image of a vehicle with squiggly lines behind it. This was unnerving.
Next, the vehicle started slowing down, shaking, acting as if it was going to stop. I took it to the Honda dealership. They gave be a ridiculous quote of about $6,000.00. I didn't have the money. Since this is a vehicle I drive my chronically sick child in, i wanted it to be safe. So I set out to fix it based on all the things the Honda dealership mentioned. I was not aware that there was an extended warranted for the pistons or related parts at the time.
I paid my mechanics to change the spark plugs, the alternation, the rubber seals for the head cover gasket, the belts...etc. These are some of the things the dealership had mentioned were covered in oil that was leaking from the pistons. I was happy for a short time. The van seemed to work for a while...but not for long. The issues started again.
I went back to the Honda Dealership. That is when I learned about the "flawed or poorly designed Piston system" and its accompanying parts. So, no matter the meticulous care I had taken of the vehicle or its assigned status...it was a problem that was inevitable! Honda knows and knew this. I called Honda America at 800-999-1009 and spoke with Amber, at ext 87790 and her Supervisor at ext. 88147. They both gave me several reasons why Honda will never pay to fix my problem. This was disheartening and depressing. I now had to borrow money and a vehicle to drive my child to his doctor's appointments.
I asked to speak with Romona's supervisor who she said is someone named "Sergio". He has not called back.
