At 45K miles DIY oil change noticed rubber pieces in the drained oil (later realized those were parts of piston rings). Soon got Check Engine Light on and VSA warning. Dealer performed the diagnostic and stated that piston rings need replacement. The job was quoted at $5K with the vehicle just out of 8 year extended warranty. After opening a case with Honda Corporate, the dealer performed a Good Will repair with 90% of the cost covered by Honda. For more details on the issue see Honda TSB 13-081.
