The contact owns a 2006 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the hydraulic liftgate hinges failed. The lift gate came down unexpectantly while it was open. No one was injured. The dealer was called and advised the contact that there were no recalls for the failure and any repairs would be at the contacts expense. The manufacturer confirmed the dealer's statement and provided no further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The failure mileage was 77,000.
2006 Honda Odyssey ex-L liftgate struts not working. I had the hatch door open & it suddenly shut hard on it's own. My daughter and I were getting groceries from the van at the time. Until this time, there was no indication that the parts were wearing. I just had the van in a Honda dealership on 4/21 for repairs that included having them check out why the cargo area was filled with water. I will order replacement parts & install.
