The contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the auto tensioner was faulty on his vehicle. Whenever it rains, the undercarriage of the vehicle and the driver belt become wet, which causes the auto tensioner not to pull the slack out of the belt. As a result, the power steering fails and the battery stops charging. The dealer stated that there were no recalls for this failure and advised the contact to call the Honda manufacturer. He took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that they could not check the auto tensioner because they could not locate it under the vehicle. The contact had previously taken his vehicle to another mechanic, who was able to locate the auto tensioner. The failure mileage was 52,000.
