After the sliding door on the driver side stopped working, we was still able to switch off the switch and open/close it manually a few times. The following morning trying to do the same thing it only opened halfway and then wouldnt latch closed as I tried the second time to get it to latch closed the whole door just fell off track. Luckily it happened sitting in my moms driveway. I would hate to have seen what would had happened had I been driving when it came off since my 4 year olds seat is right there.
I stopped behind a car waiting to merge from a parking lot to highway 193. The car ahead pulled out a little. Then apparently changing his mind, he backed up into me. I had not pulled forward, but he still totaled my car. Surprisingly, my airbags did not inflate. The collision bent my hood, cracked the grill, broke the bumper.
NHTSA ticket #: 1068744 I am submitting this complaint because I took my 2004 Honda Odyssey to rudolph Honda in el paso, tx to correct four recalls. The recalls were not corrected because my vehicle now has its SRS indicator light constantly on along with the side airbag off and passenger airbag off indicator lights flashing. The drive (D) light on the gear shift started blinking while I was driving. I pulled over and shifted to park, but the light continued to blink. I turned off the engine, and when I turned it back on the blinking had stopped. American Honda has told me that this may be related to a 2004 transmission-related recall, and that if so Honda will pay for the repairs. However, it must be diagnosed by a dealer, and Honda dealers charge a $115 diagnostic fee. Both the dealer and american Honda have told me they cannot waive the fee. However, I feel that the fee should be waived as this is a safety issue, and the only purpose of the diagnostic test is to determine whether Honda will pay for the repairs. If they will not pay for the repairs, we do not intend to have the repairs done.
Was driving normal then car stalled and started reving very loud and jerking when pushing on gas while the D for drive was lashing even when put ino park the D still flashed blue was reading about problem and it sounds like transmission failure
There was no incident. My complaint is about the paint peeling significantly on my navy blue minivan. Got an estimate for out of pocket repainting and was quoted $800 just for the hood. Paint is peeling in more places. Decided to check online to see if this was a common occurrence and it is. I have owned the van for over 9 years and never received any recall or reimbursement for paint peeling problem.
Received news from a local Honda dealership that all 4 engine mounts were broken for a cost of $925. When looking for parts happen to see the amount of chatter regarding engine mounts on several model years of the Odyssey. Lesson learned... perhaps check this site before buying any vehicle. Seems Honda should cover some of the cost at least.
Car key would not turn the ignition...it would lock up and a few minutes later work. We had to replace the ignition lock assembly and now have a different keys to start the car then the car doors. The cost of the new ignition lock was $402.03.
Transmission failure in 2004 Honda Odyssey. Mileage 75000, bought new from dealership, maintained by dealer. Was shocked when news of transmission failure was broken. Repair estimate 3900 this also include the computer which is peculiar with this 04. Still talking with Honda America on how they can help.
Defective engine and transmission mount, will result in severe vibration and transaxle misalignment defective transmission at 84,000 miles. Dealership require to replace transmission and all engine and transmission mounts.
Passenger air bag is turning off frequently. There is always a strong crack when you press the brake. There is a decoloring passenger air bag place. It eats gas if you turn on the back air conditioner. The passenger console had a big vibration. The Odyssey has gone to the dealer more than four times for the same reason but it's never fixed. They said those claims are normal for a model 2004.
1month ago I opened the passenger side automatic door on my 2004 Honda Odyssey and it pinned a publix bagger and shopping cart between my vehicle and another vechile. The door did not stop and continiued to Ram itself open. Thankfully, the bagger was not injured, but the my vehicle has several significant dents and scrapes. In Dec. 2004, we had taken the van in for door problems; not shutting properly, stopping during closing for no reason etc. I'm very concerned about the door's safety features, especially regarding my 2 Y/O. the dealership 12/04 & 7/25/05, states that no abnormalities were found. I'm very concerned and will seek legal advice.
