The driver and passenger side airbags deployed with the driver's airbag rupturing and spraying metal pellets. The contact's son was driving the vehicle and was injured. The left side of his chest was mangled, cut and bleeding. The driver did not go to the hospital. The contact's son then stopped. The vehicle's passenger side fender needed to be replaced and was repaired by the contact's son. The vehicle was towed home and a police report was filed. The right front passenger tire frame was damaged and repaired by a independent mechanic. The air bags were just pushed back into the dashboard and steering wheel. The dealer and manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The vehicle had a NHTSA campaign number: 20V026000 (air bag) for the driver's side air bag. The failure mileage was 100,000.

A recall notice was sent to me in March/2020. I have contacted a local Honda dealer, and continue to get the same response that "no parts are available" a company this large should have come up with a solution by now. I'm getting to the point of being afraid to drive my vehicle. Please have them remedy this situation!

There have been 2 recalls for my 99 Honda Odyssey. The first was on transmission a few years back N now there is one open for my airbags. Well my transmission was never fixed by Honda. And now I can't get them to fix my airbags
Sliding door always was defective from 2006. Always not closing to the end. One slider door outside handle not working from 2006, probably cable broken inside of slider door. Sliding door handle is lose. My wife not using slider door more than 10 years, because it stock and can't open at all. Front door lock also not working correctly. Also I want replace all air back in my mini van, I never receive any paper recall from dealer.

The contact owns a 1999 Honda Odyssey. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. Prior to the failure, a green key light symbol illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle restarted normally and stalled again while driving. The dealer stated that they would diagnose the vehicle for a price. The diagnostic revealed that the harness needed to be replaced and may have caused the vehicle to stall. The SRS air bag light illuminated and was repaired for free. Currently, the ignition needs to be repaired at the contact's expense. The contact has scheduled an appointment to have the ignition repaired. The failure mileage was 103,000 and current mileage was 108,000.
My wife was driving a 1999 Honda Odyssey van and crossed over a 2 track railroad crossing. The air shield underneath the front of the van came down and hit one of the tracks. This caused the air bags to deploy. My mechanic was concerned that this would cause the air bags to deploy.
The consumer was rear ended and pushed into the vehicle in front. The front seats collapsed along with the middle row seat backs, and the air bags did not deploy.
SRS warning light activated. Diagnostics show SRS module failure (airbags non-functional) replacement part not available until 12/29/1999. Dealer claims problem is widespread.
