On June 5, 2017, at 124,361 the engine stalled, numerous lights lit up and the car wouldn't do more than about 10 miles per hour. Hobbled my way to the Honda dealership which luckily was only about a mile away. Car completely stalled several times in route.
Prior to this event, the car used about 1 quart of oil for every 2,000 miles driven. This had been occurring since it was new. Dealership inspected the car and told me that the oil injectors, ignition sensor and spark plugs would need to be replaced. Also informed me that excessive oil use was normal for this car. Wish they had told me that when they sold it to me.
Tech who repaired the car had to keep it for a week because he couldn't get the oil lifters to seat. He also said he was puzzled about the spark plugs (the hybrid uses 8) because they showed signs of heat and fouling. Total repair cost $1,381.57.
This car started exhibiting increased oil use between 90,000 to 100,000 miles. Above the 1 qt mentioned above.
