Bought my car brand new in September 2017, and seven months later I go in to get my oil changed and end up being told I need to buy an entirely new tire because there was a bubble in it. However the technician only showed me a photo of a tire on his phone, with no proof that it was my car. Feeling pressured since he told me it could blow out while I was driving if I didn't get it fixed that day, I bought the new tire. A few days later I was driving and my low tire pressure light went on. A tow company looked at my tires and told me nothing was wrong. I reset the light.
A few weeks later my low tire pressure light goes on again and I have a nail in my tire. I go into Honda to get it patched - the same guy who pressured me into buying a new tire says he'll have two technicians look at it "to see if it can be fixed". I knew it could be patched because I had three of my friends who have worked with cars take a look at it before I went in. I was sitting in the driver's seat of my car watching him ask them through my right sideview mirror and it looked to me as if both technicians nodded their heads yes that it could be fixed, and they walked off. The service advisor came back around my car and already had the price of a new tire up on his screen and told me, "So it looks like it can't be fixed and you're going to have to buy a new tire. The price for it is-" and I cut him off, told him I'm not buying a new tire, and I'm having my dad come in with me.
Ten minutes later my dad shows up and we talk to two other technicians and a different service advisor, and what do you know, they patch it up for $30! Nasty technicians trying to weasel me out of my money. Absolutely disgusting.
Afterwards, I send a complaint to the service manager and he apologizes, lets me know that the service advisor I complained about had ended up moving departments, and has me come in so they can check the TPMS system. They performed a hard reset on the TPMS and set my tire pressures, and offered me a free car wash and two free services the next time I come in again with my car.
Three weeks later my gear shift light goes out, so I can't tell which gear I'm in when I'm driving or reversing unless I check my dashboard. I emailed the service advisor asking if I'm going to be required to use one of those free services on this, even though a bulb in my car shouldn't be going out since my car is only 10 months old at this point. Not sure if one of their technicians messed with something inside my car that they weren't supposed to that caused my gear shift light to go out, but I feel as if my suspicions of this Honda are pretty well backed with facts since that service advisor tried forcing me to buy a new tire for $700 when it ended up being fixed for $30.
