After incident took car to dealership where I bought and where it is serviced. After 2 weeks I was told there was no electrical cause. I am shocked because I need HONDA to guarantee I am not putting my life and my grandchildren at risk .

I drove the car 5 min, picked up my daughter and as we drove 5 min, we smelled smoke, then plastic. We pulled over, open rear trunk, too much smoke. Stepped back and BANG, an explosion and we witnessed the rear window crackling. I need HONDA to guarantee cause, ownership of cause otherwise I will sell car and never buy another HONDA.

My rear windshield spontaneously shattered. It was parked, nobody around it, it was all alone. My daughter and I had gone shopping a few hours earlier. The temperature was in the low 80's and it had not rained since the day before. My daughter went out to the car to get a bag she had left in the car and heard a loud pop. She didn't realize what had happened right away, as she was looking at the front of the car when it happened. She didn't know what the pop was, so she proceeded to get her bag from the passenger seat. When she closed the passenger side door, she heard glass fall. She went and looked, then came and got me.

When we went outside to look at it, it was clear that it had exploded from the inside out. The glass around the hole was pointing outward and all of the cracks kind of stacked themselves outward. It was honestly the weirdest thing I had ever seen. We have a long driveway, so it's not like something could have hit it from the street and we are surrounded mostly by woods, so no immediate neighbors.

I will be taking it to the dealership where it was purchased tomorrow, so I will be back with an update.
