When Dick Brooks Honda of Greer brought the car around to us after cleaning it, I noticed it was really greasy. The following week after the grease wore off, we noticed it was covered in small circular scratches. We called the dealership and took the car back in and they claimed they never saw the scratches. After we contacted the corporate office and started a formal complaint, Dick Brooks was told they had to clay bar the entire car and put a finish on it. We took it in and they only did the hood and roof. We took it back the next day and the claim they did the whole car. About a week later again all the scratches showed through again. We were incredibly frustrated but decided we were going to drop it because we had already spent about 20 hours on the phone with the corporate office and had taken a total of 3 days off work for them to look at the car and the repairs.
Forward three months- My daughter came home from college for a visit and we noticed the car was a mess. We told her to wash it and she did. We looked at the car and it looked like it had never been washed. My husband and I sent her inside and we washed her car. After a couple of hours of scrubbing, the car still looked filthy and was covered with bird poop (no poop was there, but it left the mark and stained the paint like it was) and dead bugs. We were puzzled and weren't sure what to do so my husband got out the rubbing compound and tried it on a couple of spots. He rubbed very lightly and waxed the areas when he was finished. Well...the rubbing compound scratched off the paint. A couple of days later we took the car to a repair shop and the first thing the repair guy did was rub the back of his hand across the car. His hand did not rub across it smoothly. It stuck and squeaked and was very hard to rub across. After he and another remaining guy looked at the car closer, they believe the car was painted but didn't get the clear coat. They think the stickiness was from the wrap the vehicles are wrapped in to transport. They believe it got too hot and left a residue over the entire car since it didn't have a clear coat to protect it.
The Honda corporation has been a nightmare to deal with! They have been uncooperative, won't return calls, won't follow up etc. My first car I ever owned was a Honda and I thought Honda would be the only car I ever owned. Not now! I will never buy another Honda again with how poorly the dealership and the corporate office have handled this. I would not recommend this car to anyone!
