"Flat spots on a starter'' - how would that happen if the starter was a good one? It would last many more miles.

This is really expensive for me and the reason I got a Honda in the first place was that they were reliable. A starter giving out at 50,000 miles seems unreasonable.

Again, the same thing. The car won't start. the problem started sometime is April (2020) When the key is turned all systems are powered, but the engine won't turn. The dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree. I've had the battery and cables checked and they're fine. I get a jump and drive around, but when it's turned off, it won't start again. I will finally take it in to the dealership and have it looked at. I hope I don't need a tow. First I'm trying to research how many complaints Honda has received with this complaint. Last year, right after the warranty ended, I had to take it in because of a terrible grinding noise when the car was started. I wonder if these issues are related!

The car is only 4 years old with less than 34000 miles.

Same - Car won't start. I will also report the other times that the car wouldn't start, but the problem started sometime is April (2020) When the key is turned all systems are powered, but the engine won't turn. I've had the battery and cables checked and they're fine. I can get the car to start with a jump. This last time, though, I drove around for 20 minutes after the battery was jumped, then stopped the car for gas, and it wouldn't start again.

The car is only 4 years old with less than 34000 miles!!

Engine fails to start when pushing the start button. Problem gradually getting worse. Can take up to half an hour to start the engine sometimes. Just keep pushing start and hope for the best. Sometimes it will slow crank and fail, but when it does work, it starts up no problem. Notice its worse in colder weather.

Was taken in and checked by the dealer and all tests came back fine. Alternator charges fine, battery is fine, and the starter was taking and being supplied plenty of current/voltage to start the car. They couldn't get the starter to fail during their time with the car. Was told to monitor the problem (they did nothing but charge me 40 bucks CAD). The problem persists on a daily basis and both the dealer and Honda Canada will do nothing until my car is dead and has to be towed in before they will look at the problem under the warranty. If they can't reproduce the problem they will do nothing. They won't remove a part to inspect it unless it is dead.

I am stuck with a lemon of a car and nobody will even look at it until it is dead. Week after week of being late for several jobs because of the starter. How many days of vacation do I have to waste to bring the car in just to have it work fine at the dealer and they do nothing. It usually starts easier when its warm. How many months will I be late for work and my wife's work before the starter dies for sure and then waste several days to have it towed, looked at, part ordered, part replaced. Cost to replace it myself? 500 CAD for the starter plus how many hundred more for labour. The car is 2.5 years old. Thanks Honda.

Around 34k miles, the push-button start started failing. It would take a few extra "pushes" to get the engine to start. Each time, all electronics would turn on but the engine failed to turn over. It gradually got worse and was taking several minutes to start. Took vehicle to the dealership and the starter was replaced under warranty. The issue started occurring in late fall when the weather began getting colder. Very satisfied with Honda's handling of my problem.

I had the Car towed to the Dealership 2 times for the starter, and I have not had the car a year yet.
