The dashboard display of my mileage and fuel levels is often blank when I initially start my car, or the display is gibberish (e.g. numbers and letters where there shouldn't be any). This happens frequently (3-4X/week) and tends to be worse when it's colder outside.

Have had to replace batteries every single year since purchase in 2015. Vehicle will function fine then struggle to start out of nowhere. Despite taking steps to avoid unnecessary power draining and trying different brands of batteries (which is a small selection) every year around October/November it starts to fail. The car can be jumpstarted without too much issue by another vehicle, but portable jumpstarting systems struggle to get it going. Issues will start without much correlation of how much the vehicle had been in motion prior. Car could've been stationary/turned off for 30 mins or a day with the same results.

The gauge display that shows mileage, fuel indicator, oil level, temperature reading and other important information that is needed to maintain your vehicle in good condition may come on sometimes. If it does come on, it is so scrambled that you cannot read it and then goes blank. I am very insecure driving the car and not knowing how much fuel I have or the mileage reading to know when maintenance needs be done. I contacted Honda concerning this matter and was told that they were nor aware of any problems with this and I would need to have it taken care of myself. I have read on many sites where several owners have had the same issue with this vehicle and I feel it is a serious safety issue. Also when this happens, it doesn't make a difference if I am moving or sitting still. Please, if anyone else is having this problem, contact Honda direct. If enough people make Honda aware of the problem something may be done about it.

The gas and speedometer gauge went blank, there is no way to tell how much gas you have left in the tank, you cannot track down your oil service maintenance, you cannot track your milage use. This is becoming a safety issue, I don't trust the car, I can be left stranded anytime and I am doing the maintenance blindly.

2 huge issues when I bought my car. I bought it used with 45K miles on it and by 60,000 miles I needed the entire fuel rail replaced due to lurching on the highway and roads. Honda paid for it after a lengthy argument between dealerships. Now, a year later, I am continually having problems with the no-ignition keys. When I first got the car, it told me "low key battery", "no key" or just wouldnt register them. I replaced both the car battery and the key batteries. The dealership told me it was an issue with the PCM module. They said they fixed it and less than a.month later the same problem was happening. Now they are telling me it may just be the batteries in the keys. Today I could not start my car. Even with the key in the car, and even pushing it right up to the ignition button which usually works.

The display that shows fuel gauge, mileage, temperature, odometer and other important information may come on for awhile and then the screen goes blank. If it does come on the information on the screen is so scrambled and then the screen goes blank again. It doesn't make a difference if the car in motion or stopped. I feel very insecure not knowing how much fuel I have in the car or my mileage that I depend on for maintenance purposes. I have did some research on my issue and have found many owners with the same problem.

The digital display that contains information on mileage and fuel levels frequently malfunctions, either going completely blank or rapidly flashing random characters (letters and numbers). This seems to happen in colder weather but for my vehicle has also been happening in warmer (up to 75 degrees F). Issue happens while parked or in motion- any time car is on. A quick search of vehicle owner forums online returns multiple complaints of the same issue. Honda has made no attempts to remedy this despite it being a known issue. Not being able to check the fuel gauge is a safety issue. The flashing is also extremely distracting while driving. This has been happening to my vehicle for years and I finally took it to get fixed at Honda now. They charge $179 just to 'diagnose' the issue even though it seems they should be aware of it.

2015 Honda Fit (with approx. 24K miles). Battery will lose charge after car is not used / sits for three (3) to four (4) days with all lights / radio / accessories turned off. Battery has been replaced three times, most recently August 2020. Replacement battery is properly sized for the vehicle. The electrical issue is causing a parasitic drain on the battery. Dealer reps have stated this is a well-recognized problem with the Fit model. Recommendation is that the car be driven at least 10 to 15 miles every day or 2nd day. The recommendation drive the vehicle every day / 2nd day is not only expensive in terms of gas costs but also needlessly contributes to pollution and (perhaps by design) early vehicle obsolescence. This important safety defect is most likely caused by a defective electrical load detector (eld) unit in the fuse/relay box. This eld reads the amperage load directly from the battery and sends a varied voltage signal to the PCM which regulates the signal to the alternator. The eld is directly connected to the PCM. The PCM is connected to the alternator, not the eld. The eld monitors the amperage requirements and informs the PCM as to what to do. The eld will vary the output between.1 to 4.8 volts to the ECU. This reference voltage is what tells the ECU to increase or decrease the field strength in the alternator. As the current is ramped up or down the eld ratchets the output voltage to the PCM to compensate for the load. I was told that a Honda bulletin stated: Symptom: The car will not start after sitting for a week. Probable cause: The eld is faulty or has a faulty solder joint. Solution: - replace the under hood fuse/relay box. This is not covered by warranty. Honda Motors should be required to recall these cars to fix the eld / PCM parts / alternator computer program and up size the batteries to handle the parasitic draw.

The gauge cluster that includes the odometer and fuel gauge intermittently go blank or glitch when the weather starts to get colder. It happens every time you turn on the car lately, however. This leads me to believe that the gauge cluster is degrading faster now.

  • 40,000 miles
The integrated odometer+fuel gauge display on the dashboard instrument cluster fails intermittently but regularly. Display failure has occurred sporadically many times during several years of car ownership. Frequency and duration of display failure has increased significantly within last 6 months resulting in increased safety hazard since driver is blinded to vehicle fuel status and/or distance driven when display fails. Display failure occurs partially or completely as shown in the attached photos, and sometimes the failure lasts for many miles or multiple days before it self-corrects until the next failure occurs. Display failure occurs sporadically regardless of vehicle being stationary or in motion, but happens much more frequently (almost every other day) during cold weather when air temperature is below 50 degrees.

Digital gas gauge includes odometer. Last winter, at about 32 degrees or colder, gauge often either did not work (went blank) or scrambled its info, which was then unreadable. Now, the gauge has begun malfunctioning in July. I fear running out of gas or missing maintenance due to unreliable odometer reading. Both situations could leave me stranded at the side of the road. It doesn't matter whether car is moving or not.

The fuel gauge display has failed (it also displays time, odometer, temp, etc). It comes on intermittently, or not at all. When it does come on, sometimes it's glitched out/complete gibberish, with the wrong fuel amount. Many, many other Honda Fits have this issue (no recall, corporate refuses to acknowledge this manufacturing defect). Time, mileage, and temperature have no effect. Cost is $700+ for dealer to fix.

My 2015 Honda Fit LX with only 22,000 miles has 4 system lights all came on at once ' TPMS, check engine, electric power steering (eps), vehicle stability assist (vsa). The mechanic recommended that all 4 fuel injectors along with fuel pipes will need to be replaced after ruling out ignition coils and spark plugs as potential issues. He stated that there are known issues with direct fuel injectors with Honda of this model year. A search on the internet and NHTSA website confirmed this is known issue of this model year Honda as reported by many Honda owners with similar problems. The estimate cost to replace all fuel injectors is $1700-2000. This is a known defective design by Honda but they will not recall or cover the repair.

Similar issue to the others, have the right hand circular lcd panel of the dash which has progressively become worse and is locked, glitched or completely out most of the time when driving or stationary. Started when the car was just out of warranty in 2018 but is now unbearable. Includes odometer, fuel gauge (safety issue), fuel economy and other trip information. Also have had the often mentioned intermittent non-starting issue which was solved with a new starter with less than 35,000 miles on the car.
