Having anything in such a new break, without abuse or misuse, is pretty disappointing! The dealer will order the part, after suggesting email of photos to avoid an 2 hour round trip, so that is good.
I am certainly expecting it to be covered by the warranty, but this is TBD, and I am hoping this is not an indication of a design problem, or weak material.
Update from Jan 13, 2015: Dealer replaced the part (the left cylinder for the hatchback door) in about 15 minutes, ordering the part took about a week. No charge.
