NEED INFO ON MAKING A SAFE DO-IT-YOURSELF SKID PLATE FOR 2015 FIT
The skid plate on my Fit is a piece of junk. The first time it pulled loose I used baling wire to hook it back up. Then I took it in for an oil change and they weren't going to do it because it wasn't in its original state and they couldn't put it back on like that. I told them I was a 68 year old woman who got under the car and fixed it and if could do that, they could do it, too. So they did, after offering to sell me a replacement for some absurd amount of money. My reply, "Why would I pay hundreds of dollars for something that is the automotive equivalent of a panty liner?" After a year I replaced it again and after another year that one came off. Now I want to find out how I can safely replace it with a do-it-yourself version. I'm 5'3" and dirt doesn't bother me, but I'm an amateur so I can't weld anything. I guess you would call me a redneck woman. Thanks!
