Takata recall: I contacted berkeley Honda to get this recall fixed. A sales person contacted me to try to sell me a new car but the service department never returned the call. I called them back and they supposedly ordered the part but never advised me if the part was available. Further calls not returned. Contacted oakland Honda who said they had the parts but refused to make an appointment - said it's first come, first served. I'm an elderly woman and not well. I cannot be expected to show up and either wait and wait or find out that there is no part available when I get there. I called san leandro Honda - left messages but they never return the call. Please have someone take care of this! it's not good service at all and not realistic to have me never have a passenger while I'm waiting for this to be resolved.
I received a notice regarding the driver's front airbag inflator recall in February of 2016. The letter stated that parts will be available to repair the recall in the summer of 2016. It has been 9 months, and the manufacturer has failed to provide a remedy in a timely manner.

Takata recall - Honda informed me in Feb 2016 about the recall regarding the airbag however I have not heard anything since then. 9 months later and no resolution. This is not being handled in a timely manner. Especially since this issue has been known to kill drivers. Received NHTSA recall notice 16V-061 in March 2016. Called local dealer and was told that the part was not yet in. Called again over the summer, and again today (9/26/2016) and was told that the part is still not in. We believe that this is an unacceptable length of time to correct a safety issue that can cause death and injury to the driver.
