My car had less than 50,000 miles on a manual transmission and it just started slipping. I am 49 years old and manual transmission is all I have ever driven and I have never, ever had to replace a clutch, even with cars 10 year and older. I've driven Volkswagons, classic bugs and a brand new jetta, I had a saturn, and a PT cruiser. Never a problem with the clutch on any of them. I have been reading forums and this seems to be a common problem with Honda Fit 2009. It seems that the problem is with a defective Master cylinder and if you don't get a good service manager, you end up paying over a $1,000 for a new clutch and being blamed for not knowing how to drive a manual transmission. So not fair! My car isn't even 4 years old and I know how to drive a manual transmission! I've been doing it for 35 years! I have an appointment with Honda on March 25th and I hope I don't have a problem. I am wondering if I should report this to Honda now, or wait til after I have it in the shop? Believe me, I do not have a $1,000 to put out for anything!
